Acquiring Essential Life Skills


Life skills are actually adaptive abilities that deal so well with changing demands and challenges. They include problem solving skills, interpersonal communication, stress management, critical and creative thinking, as well as decision making. Examples of practical life skills include managing family responsibilities, home maintenance, employability, keeping up health and wellness, self-care, financial management, communication with co-workers and so on. As young students, we start a life skills-based education during foundational skills: interacting with others very well, creative thinking, math, telling time, writing and reading. As we become young women and men, educational training and experience aid in teaching us the skills needed to life a competent and fulfilling life.
